Afghanistan

Afghanistan, due to its political instability and ongoing conflict, faces significant challenges in combating counterfeiting. The prevalence of counterfeit goods is especially high in sectors like electronics, pharmaceuticals, and food products. Counterfeit goods often enter the country through informal trade channels, making enforcement efforts difficult.

The Afghan government has made limited progress in strengthening its intellectual property infrastructure, but counterfeiting remains a persistent issue. The lack of adequate regulatory frameworks and enforcement mechanisms has made Afghanistan a hotbed for counterfeit goods. However, with international cooperation and support, there is potential for gradual improvement. NGOs and international organizations are working to raise awareness about the dangers of counterfeit goods and promote the development of better legal frameworks to protect consumers.
