Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)

Saudi Arabia is a key player in the Middle East's economy, with a growing demand for both domestic and international brands. However, the country faces significant challenges related to the counterfeiting of luxury goods, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and automotive parts. The Kingdom is known to rank among the top 10 countries globally in terms of counterfeit seizures, contributing to an estimated 7-9% of the total value of counterfeit goods circulating in the region.

To combat this issue, the Saudi government has intensified its efforts through its General Authority for Consumer Protection, which has enacted laws specifically aimed at preventing counterfeit goods in the market. Saudi Arabia has also adopted the Kingdom's National Anti-Counterfeit Strategy to strengthen IPR protection. This includes tougher penalties for counterfeiters, stricter inspections, and closer cooperation with international IPR organizations to prevent the influx of counterfeit goods, especially in retail markets and online platforms.
